Service life and quality relationship of black silicon carbide
Recently, some customers reported that the black silicon carbide will be broken during the grinding process. Why is this broken? Is it related to the raw materials?
First of all, the abrasive strength refers to the firmness of the black silicon carbide particles themselves. That is, when the abrasive edge is still quite sharp, it can withstand the applied pressure without being chipped. Practice has shown that abrasives with poor strength have fast crushing of abrasive particles, low cutting ability and short service life. The strength of the abrasive will directly affect the number of abrasive grains and the length of working time to maintain high cutting power. In the process of grinding, the main reason for the reduction of the cutting ability of the abrasive is the fragmentation of the abrasive particles, which reduces the number of large abrasive particles that can produce cutting action. However, the sharp corners before the abrasive particles are not significantly passivated, and the cutting ability is not completely lost, but the particle size becomes slightly smaller.
